Free School Meals - clarification
We wish to clarify how the Free School Meals (FSM) daily allowance works on your child's school account, ensuring they receive a healthy, balanced lunch every day.
Your child’s account is credited with £2.60 each day for lunch. This allowance is specifically designated to cover a complete, nutritious main meal option, which includes:
- Hot main meal of the day
- Pasta meal deal
- Jacket potato meal deal
- Sandwich meal deal
To ensure every child accesses a full meal, this daily £2.60 purse cannot be used to purchase standalone snacks or drinks at break time and can only be used for lunch.
If you wish to top up your child’s iPay account so they can purchase extra drinks or break-time snacks, please note that we enforce a strict £6 daily spending limit on all student accounts.
As the £6 limit includes the £2.60 FSM allowance, the maximum amount of personal money your child can spend at break time is £3.40. Spending more than £3.40 of personal money at break will reduce their available total for the day, preventing the system from releasing their full £2.60 FSM allocation at lunchtime.
