As it is the start of a new academic year, please find a link to the Children's Commissioner website which provides a wealth of resources and advice for families to support children and young people back into school.

As it is the start of a new academic year, please find a link to the Children's Commissioner website which provides a wealth of resources and advice for families to support children and young people back into school.
The website includes Guidance for Parents on School Attendance which details:
- Parent/carer responsibilities
- If my child needs to be absent from school, what do I need to do?
- My child has a short term illness. Do they have to go to school and will I be penalised if they don't. Plus the NHS guide on Is my child too ill for school?
The Children's Commissioner website also includes information and resources on:
- Moving from primary to secondary school, including an activity pack
- Support for parents looking after children with mental health concerns with links to the NHS Children's Mental Health - Every Mind Matters, BBC Bitesize Wellbeing, Parents Helpline - Mental Health Help for your Child, Parents' A-Z Mental Health Guide, School Anxiety and Refusal: A Guide for Parents.
- Bullying Resources: A Guide for Parents and Top Tips for Dealing with Bullying.
- BBC Bitesize Parents' Toolkit, Support for parents whose children have special educational needs or disability including Understanding the extra Support that can be available through school for children with SEND and Advice for parents of children with autism when their child is starting or changing school, plus Advice for parents of children with autism navigating education.
