Football Shirt Day Celebration: Wednesday 15 July 2026

We are absolutely thrilled to announce a Football Shirt Day Celebration day on Wednesday, 15th July 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity for our students and staff to get behind England as they continue their World Cup journey. The boys have done it! England have officially reached the semi-finals of the World Cup in the United States, and we are excited to show our support for Harry and the rest of the team as they aim to make history.

Students and staff are invited to wear a football shirt of their choice, whether that is an England shirt, a local club shirt, or the shirt of their favourite team. We ask that all students taking part bring a £1 cash donation, which will be collected during morning meet and greet at the gates.

All proceeds will go to the Be More Bailey Foundation. Bailey Matthews is a former Outwood Academy Valley student who recently joined us as our guest speaker at the Student Voice Awards. Bailey is an inspirational young person who established the Be More Bailey Foundation to provide grants for specialist sporting equipment and create inclusive sporting events, enabling children and young people with disabilities to participate in triathlons, swimming, cycling, and running.

Please note that students should wear their chosen football shirt with the rest of their normal school uniform, including school trousers or skirts and school shoes.

Should temperatures increase and we decide that students should wear their PE kit instead, we will communicate this to families on Tuesday evening. If this is the case, students may wear their football shirt in place of their usual PE top.
