June 2026
Dear Parents and Carers
Outwood Academy Valley Sports Day 2026
I am delighted to inform you that on Friday, 10th July 2026, we are holding our annual Outwood Academy Valley Sports Day.
We would like to outline how the event will run as it will be slightly different from our normal Academy day and different from previous years’ Sports Days. Details are as follows:
- Period 1 & 2 - 8:15am -10:15am Year 7 & 9 only to take part in any Athletics Events for their continent or observe and support (all on first lunch 12:10-12:40pm, as usual)
- Period 3 & 4 - 11:10am - 1:10pm - Year 8 & 10 only to take part in any Athletics Events for their continent or observe and support (all on last lunch 1:10 - 1:40pm, as usual)
- Period 5 - 1:40pm - 2:40pm - All years to go to their PD&G groups/rooms, to register, then take part in Relay Races or observe and support
All students are encouraged to take part in at least one event that day, but all are allowed and encouraged to attend the academy in their normal Outwood PE kit all day. Please note that normal PE Kit rules apply; strictly no cycling shorts/Nike Pros/etc, as they are not part of our uniform, no jewellery, appropriate trainers, etc.
Students should attend their normal lessons, allocated on their normal timetable, each lesson. If they are in their year group’s Sport Day periods, their class teacher will register them and then escort them promptly to the extension fields, via the sports hall.
We anticipate that this event will be very successful. However, if a decision is made to cancel the event, due to poor weather conditions, we will inform you by text/email and any relevant information will be displayed on the academy website. Should this decision be made, the academy day will run as normal. Regardless, they will attend at least 2 of their normal timetabled lessons, so please ensure your child has their equipment, including their planner in their bag.
Please could all students come prepared for all weather conditions and we advise that they bring a bottle of water, sun cream and a hat (if necessary) with them.
If you have any questions about this event please do not hesitate to contact us using the following email address: equiries@valley.outwood.com
Yours faithfully
