Celebrating Together – Culture Day at Outwood Academy Valley

On Wednesday 1st July, our school will host a vibrant and educational Culture Day. This exciting event is being proudly hosted and organised by our Student Voice Parliament to celebrate the wonderful diversity within our school.

Throughout the day, students will participate in interactive lessons exploring world cultures and global traditions.

The celebrations will continue after school on the playground. From 14:40 to 16:45, our Student Voice Parliament invites all families to join us for an afternoon of community fun. We will have a bouncy castle, music, and activities for everyone to enjoy.

To make this student-led event a success, we need your help. We are looking for parent volunteers to share their unique cultural heritage with our school community.

There are many ways you can get involved:

  • Food: Prepare a traditional dish or snack for our community food stall
  • Clothing: Wear your traditional cultural dress and talk to students about it.
  • Music & Dance: Play an instrument, share a playlist, or teach a traditional dance.
  • Crafts & Activities: Run a short workshop teaching a cultural craft or traditional game.
  • Language: Teach students useful words, phrases, or calligraphy from your language.

If you can volunteer your time, bring in a dish, run a small activity, or can recommend a group or organisation that can help, please email Mrs Dias at z.dias@valley.outwood.com.
