The NHS winter vaccinations campaign starts this month with vaccinations being offered to 2 and 3 year olds, pregnant women, school aged children and children aged 6 months – 2 years with an underlying health condition.
Other groups will be invited for vaccinations next month.
We would really appreciate your help to encourage pregnant women, parents and carers to book appointments or to speak to their GP or midwife if they have any questions or concerns.
It’s also the start of the new university year when students will be moving into shared accommodation where infections can be easily passed. To avoid missing out on the fun of freshers week students should make sure they are up to date with their vaccinations before they go – particularly their MMR (measles, mumps and rubella) & Men ACWY (meningitis).
If you could help to share these messages it would be much appreciated and to make it as easy as possible we’ve drafted a couple of articles for you to include your regular communications. Please feel free to use either or both in newsletters, emails, social media, display boards, add it to a meeting agenda or just tell people! Pick & choose what is relevant to your networks.
Thanks to everyone who joined us for the vaccination’s webinar. If you didn’t make it you can see the slides & access the recording on the ICB website:
https://notts.icb.nhs.uk/your-health/vaccinations/ . The webinar gave an overview of what vaccinations are, why they’re important and what resources are available to help spread the word.
Thanks for your help.
