Learning Environment

Outwood Academy Valley is an 11-16 school. The building is relatively modern and benefits from being a PFI building. There are extra-large corridors to aid movement around the site and a large open quad area for use during breaks.
There are specialist facilities for all subjects including custom music technology suites with a recording studio, drama studio, arts rooms, art gallery and technology, business and I.T. rooms. Each classroom has its own interactive whiteboard and modern seating. There is a Main Hall for all school productions with seating for approx. 300.
The Academy Library ‘Vision’ is a two storey area boasting views out across to the P16 Centre. There is a well-stocked library for students to loan books and also a teaching space with computer access on both floors.
Our excellent sports' reputation is reinforced by the sporting facilities including: the sports hall, gym and floodlit Astroturf pitch and two large open sports fields.
Food is cooked on site and is available from either the Academy dining hall which offers fresh cooked meals, jacket potatoes, warm baguettes and panini’s or from the Atrium with its ‘grab and go section’ and smoothie bar offering freshly made salads, pasta, smoothies and wraps.
